Guapi, Cauca: where our cacao is born

Guapi sits on the Pacific coast of Cauca, between the sea and the rainforest. The river is the road: cacao from the farms reaches the plant by boat and then by canoe along narrow estuaries.

The producing families grow their cacao on small farms inside the rainforest. Chocomueic buys the municipality's entire harvest and supports fermentation and drying to secure quality.

At the plant, a team of women trained as chocolate-making technicians turns the beans into table chocolate, fine chocolate and snacks, with food-safety registration and a registered trademark.
